Personal Statement:

Background: Natalie has worked as an educator and pastoral care coordinator. She served three years in the military. She has also worked as a community development worker in Sudan and Guatemala. Natalie has been broadened by her experience working with different cultures, nationalities, and ethnicities. She respects the uniqueness of each person and honors their spirituality as an integral aspect of their holistic wellness. Natalie is welcoming and affirming of the BIPOC and LGBTIQA+ community. Natalie comes from a multi-cultural background and identifies as a person of color.

Approach: Natalie works towards the empowerment of the person. She uses a client-centered approach which fosters relationality. She favors experiential therapy modalities and specializes in trauma. Natalie leans towards psychotherapy in helping one to embrace the larger context of one’s purpose and meaning in life. She accentuates a person’s gifts and strengths in helping others to access their inner strengths and wisdom. She considers the counseling process as the sacred work of one’s soul for restoring balance and wellness, connection and unity. Natalie is attuned to issues related to: mid-life transitions, aging, illness relocation, bereavement, grief, and loss. She has worked as group facilitator for: domestic violence, trauma support, HIV+ support, psychodrama, and addictions.
